Birmingham City chairman David Gold hopes rumours suggesting managing director Karren Brady is set to leave the club are false.
Weekend speculation linked Brady with a St Andrew's exit and suggested she was set to take up a position with Capital Radio in London.
A brief statement on City's official website read: "The board notes the weekend's speculation in the press. Karren Brady is managing director of Birmingham City Football Club on a 12-month contract."
Gold went further saying: "Asking whether I want Karren to go is like asking if I want the stadium pulled down, of course not.
"We'd do everything we could to get her to stay. I really hope this is a rumour and not true.
"Karren has been part and parcel of Birmingham City for the past 14 years and is part of the fabric of the club. Karren is Birmingham City through and through. She has been instrumental in the resurgence of the club and a power in the game as a whole.
"I've placed a call with Karren to see if it's true or not."
