Foster KO benefits England U21 duo
en Foster has pulled out of the England squad to face Hungary, with Under-21 goalkeepers Scott Loach and Frankie Fielding called up as cover. Foster is the latest player to withdraw from the friendly international at Wembley on Wednesday night. The Birmingham goalkeeper is suffering from a back injury and has been sent back to St Andrew's. As Paul Robinson announced his international retirement on Sunday, hours after being recalled to Fabio Capello's squad, it leaves the Three Lions with only Joe Hart remaining from the keepers originally picked. Coach Fabio Capello has named two replacements in Watford's Loach and Blackburn's Fielding. The move to bring in the two 22-year-olds merely highlights the problems Capello is facing in the goalkeeping department. Their selections are specific to this game and ignore Robert Green and Scott Carson, who would surely have come into contention if England were in a competitive situation. However, their lack of experience is painfully obvious, although Fielding is currently with the Under-21 side for Tuesday night's encounter with Uzbekistan at Ashton Gate, when Capello will be present. Loach would have been in the Under-21 squad but was left out following a discussion with his club Watford. However, after Tuesday night's Carling Cup tie at Aldershot he will be released to England, who handily are based in Watford. With just two full seasons of Championship action under his belt though - plus 12 Under-21 caps - the 22-year-old could hardly be trusted in the Euro 2012 qualifiers when they start next month. With Fielding, the situation is even worse. Also 22, the Blackburn-born player is yet to make a first-team appearance for Rovers and the senior action he has experienced so far has been during loan spells with Wycombe, Northampton and Rochdale. It highlights the problem, seemingly innocuous at the time, of Robinson's decision to make himself unavailable in the belief he was stuck with being no better than third choice behind Hart and Foster.
