Unsettled Birmingham City striker Mikael Forssell has joined German Bundesliga side Hannover.
The 27-year-old Finland international has agreed a three-year contract after moving to the AWD Arena on a free transfer following the end of his deal with the Blues.
Forssell endured an injury-plagued four-year spell at St Andrew's after joining the Midlands club initially on loan and then on a permanent basis from Chelsea.
He started just 65 games during his three seasons as a permanent member of the Birmingham squad.
Blues boss Alex McLeish was hoping to persuade the striker to remain at the club despite their relegation to the Championship.
"We are very happy that we could persuade Mikael to join Hannover," said sporting director Christian Hochstatter.
Forssell himself added: "I am looking forward to playing for Hannover and in the Bundesliga."
