    Fergie doesn't expect contact

    14 Dec 2009 - 11:30:17

Birmingham City midfielder Barry Ferguson doubts whether he will ever play for Scotland again despite the impending change in national team manager.

Ferguson was dropped from the side and told that he would never play for Scotland again following his role in a late-night drinking controversy and breach of discipline in April.

But despite George Burley being sacked as coach and the Scottish Football Association poised to appoint a new manager, former skipper Ferguson does not envisage pulling on the national team jersey again.

"There hasn't been any contact with the SFA," the 45-times capped midfielder told the Daily Record.

"The next international isn't until March but there's now the question of them appointing a new manager.

"This seems to be a very open book at the present time.

"We will have to see what happens but at this moment I doubt whether they will be in contact with me."
