FA reject Taylor appeal

Birmingham City have failed with their attempt to have Maik Taylor's red card from Monday's 1-1 draw with Plymouth Argyle overturned.

The Football Association rejected the appeal after agreeing that referee Michael Oliver was right to rule that Taylor had brought down Jamie Mackie inside the penalty area.

Birmingham decided to appeal after viewing a DVD which they believed showed the incident occurred outside the penalty area.

Taylor will now miss Saturday's Championship clash at Watford.
