City consider stadium plans

Birmingham City have revealed they are pressing on with plans to build a new stadium.
Speaking at an Extraordinary General Meeting on Wednesday, managing director Karren Brady revealed the Blues are continuing to hold talks with the local council over plans to build a new stadium in the Saltley area to the east of the city.
"Talks continue with the city council regarding a new stadium," said Brady.
"We are in the process of appointing a master planner and someone to look at the land to see if a stadium can become a reality.
"But we have to have auxiliaries in place as we do not want to bankrupt this club by building a stadium."
Meanwhile, the club is expected to confirm on Thursday that its shareholders have rejected an attempt by leading shareholder Carson Yeung to appoint advisors Steve McManaman and Fan Zhiyi to the current board of directors.
Yeung upset current co-owners David Gold and David Sullivan late last year when his proposed takeover at St Andrew's failed to materialise.
"Early indications show that the club's shareholders are overwhelmingly against the application," read a statement.
"Final results will be published at lunchtime tomorrow (Thursday)."
