Glenn Roeder has made his first signing as Norwich City manager by snapping up Birmingham City centre-back Martin Taylor on loan. The 6ft 4in defender has signed a one-month loan deal with the Canaries and will be available for this weekend's East Anglia derby with Ipswich. Roeder was only unveiled as Norwich manager on Tuesday and has wasted no time in making Taylor his first signing at Carrow Road. Roeder told First News: "I'm delighted to secure the services of Martin Taylor. "He's a player who I've followed throughout his career and he'll be an outstanding member of the team while he's with us." Taylor, whose nickname was 'Tiny' at his former club Blackburn Rovers, will strengthen Norwich's defensive options following injuries to Gary Doherty (groin) and Dion Dublin (back). Norwich are currently rock-bottom of the Championship having amassed eight points from 13 games and scored only seven goals.
