Steve Bruce is happy to have a two-week break to recharge the batteries of his Birmingham City squad as they prepare for the promotion run-in in the Championship.
The Blues secured a 1-1 draw at neighbours West Bromwich Albion on Sunday to move into second place in the table, with international fixtures meaning their next game is not until a week on Saturday, when they host Coventry City.
Bruce told the club's official website: "It's great now we can have a break.
"It's a tough league this with game after game and you could see a lot of players towards the end tiring which is understandable.
"It will give everybody a bit of a tonic to have a break and be ready to go again. Hopefully psychologically it will also give everybody a big lift.
"When we come back automatic promotion is still very much in our hands.
"We're in pole position if we win our game in hand and we're excited by the challenge."
