Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce has made the Celta Vigo winger Daniel de Ridder his fifth summer signing. The 23-year-old Dutchman has penned a three-year deal at St Andrew's after the former Ajax youngster's Celta Vigo contract expired over the weekend. De Ridder made his Ajax debut in January 2004 and made 30 league appearances for the Amsterdam-based club before moving to Spain two years ago. He spent most of his time in Spain on the substitute's bench though, starting only ten games in his two seasons with the club. De Ridder starred for the Netherlands Under-21 team in this summer's European Championship and helped his team win the tournament. Bruce has already snapped up Fabrice Muamba, Stuart Parnaby, Garry O'Connor and Olivier Kapo this summer following last term's promotion.
