Steve Bruce's protracted move to Wigan Athletic has finally been given the green light, after Birmingham City and Bruce resolved the dispute involving the manager's image rights.
Bruce is set to take over at the JJB stadium on Monday after a compromise was thrashed out over £225,000 that Birmingham claimed they were owed.
Meanwhile, Birmingham continue to be linked with big name coaches to take over from the former Manchester United defender, ranging from Marcello Lippi and Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari.
Reportedly Scolari was lined up for talks with the club's board, however his advisors informed a go-between not to arrange a meeting, after the England managerial position became available due to the sacking of Steve McClaren.
Even McClaren himself has been linked with the hot-seat at St. Andrew's after the ex-Middlesbrough boss vowed to return to the managerial world as soon as possible to restore his reputation.
Also some bookmakers have closed betting on Alex McLeish becoming the next Birmingham manager which has created widespread rumours that the Scotland manager is the favourite to join the Midlands side.
