Blues win Sinclair pursuit

Birmingham City have swooped to sign Chelsea forward Scott Sinclair on an initial month-long loan deal.

The highly-rated 19-year-old was also a target for Crystal Palace, but Blues boss Alex McLeish has nipped in to land Sinclair.

The versatile forward has made just a handful of starts for Chelsea to date, but has impressed during previous loan stints with Plymouth Argyle, Queens Park Rangers and Palace.

Meanwhile, McLeish is also being linked with a £3million move for Rangers' Scotland international striker Kris Boyd.

The pair worked together at Ibrox in the past, where Boyd has netted an impressive 91 goals in 129 appearances for the SPL giants.
