Blues will allow pair to leave

Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish has confirmed he will allow Neil Danns and Martin Taylor to leave St Andrew's in the transfer window.

Midfielder Danns has started just 11 Premier League games since joining the Blues from Colchester United for £500,000 in the summer of 2006.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a loan move to Nottingham Forest at times this season.

Meanwhile, defender Taylor has also been told he is surplus to requirements.

The 29-year-old has been on loan at Championship side Norwich City since the beginning of November.

"We have spoken to Neil Danns and his agent and it's likely Neil will move on," revealed McLeish.

"There is some interest in him. Nottingham Forest have shown interest in him for a while.

"We would like to bring other players in next month and that's going to hold players back already here.

"(On loan) Johan Djourou is going back (to Arsenal) but it's still the same situation with Martin. We feel it's better for the big fellow to move on. It's the right time.

"We need to make some changes and do things differently. I think QPR are still in the hunt for Martin but you will have to ask his agent on that one and find out where things are at."
