Blues land defender Dann

Birmingham City have won the race to sign Coventry City's highly-rated central defender Scott Dann.

Wolves had also been chasing the 22-year-old, who moves to St Andrew's for an undisclosed club record fee for a defender.

The England Under-21 international began his career with Walsall before moving to the Ricoh Arena 18 months ago, playing 51 games for the Sky Blues.

Dann is City's third summer capture following the arrivals of defender Stephen Carr and Ecuador striker Christian Benitez.
