Blues fail in Harewood bid
18 Jun 2007 - 13:42:55
Birmingham City have reportedly failed in a £3million approach for West Ham United striker Marlon Harewood.
The transfer-listed hitman was the subject of a £2million plus further add-ons approach from the Premier League new-boys.
However, the Hammers are believed to be holding out for more as Harewood is interesting two other clubs, believed to be Fulham and Wigan Athletic.
The 28-year-old was told he was surplus to requirements at Upton Park after scoring just four times last season.
Blues boss Steve Bruce has already added Stuart Parnaby and Fabrice Muamba to his squad this summer despite uncertainty surrounding a proposed takeover of the club.
Hong Kong businessman Carson Yeung is the latest name to be linked with a buy-out at St Andrew's.
