Blues decide against Quincy

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has decided against extending Quincy Owusu-Abeyie's loan spell at St Andrew's.

Quincy joined the Blues from Russian side Spartak Moscow on a six-month deal last August and scored three goals in 13 appearances.

However, the former Arsenal starlet had fallen down the pecking order in recent weeks and McLeish has opted not to extend his deal.

"We thank Quincy for his efforts and wish him well for the future," he told the club's official website.

"Having made this decision, we will now continue to work to strengthen the squad.

"His deal was an expensive one for just one player and we will now look to use the money to bring in new faces."
