Blues confirm Jaidi departure

Birmingham City have started shaping their squad for life in the Premier League next season after deciding to release veteran defender Radhi Jaidi.

Jaidi, 33, is out of contract at St Andrew's next month and will not be offered a new deal.

The Tunisia international made 93 appearances and scored six goals during three seasons with the Blues.

Meanwhile, after handing full-back Stephen Carr a new two-year deal last week, chairman David Sullivan is anticipating a busy summer in the transfer market for the recently promoted Blues.

"He's the first of up to ten expected signings that this club will make to enhance the squad," Sullivan told the club's official website.

"We're ambitious and want to add quality. Supporters can expect more new faces over the coming weeks."
