Blues aim to keep McFadden

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish claims he has no plans to allow unsettled forward James McFadden to leave St Andrew's.

The £5million January transfer window signing from Everton is rumoured to be unhappy following the club's relegation from the Premier League.

But McLeish is not expecting the Scotland international to move on so soon after joining the Blues.

"As far as I'm concerned, he's committed to the cause and, suffice to say, I am planning for next season with James in my team," he told the Birmingham Mail.

"It would need to be something ridiculous for us to even contemplate it (selling him).

"We want to get back up at the first attempt to the Premier League, we make no secret about that.

"And, absolutely, I want James and Sebastian Larsson here in the team to help us do that."
