Birmingham agree Gardner fee with Aston Villa

Birmingham have agreed a £3million fee with Aston Villa for midfielder Craig Gardner.
The 23-year-old boyhood Blues fan will move to St Andrew's subject to a medical and agreeing personal terms, Birmingham confirmed on their website. Gardner came through the ranks at Villa Park and made 79 appearances for the club but has found his first-team opportunities limited of late.
Blues manager Alex McLeish told www.bcfc.com: "Craig is a versatile and dynamic player who can perform in a number of positions. Players like that are really worth their weight in gold."
