Better news for Bendtner

Birmingham City have been boosted by the news that MRI scans have shown Nicklas Bendtner's ankle injury is not as bad as was initially feared. The Dane, who is on loan at St Andrew's from Arsenal, picked up the injury in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Newcastle in the FA Cup. It had been thought that Bendtner had broken or badly dislocated his ankle but scans have shown he has only suffered a sprain. It is anticipated that the 18-year-old will return to action in early February.
