    Bendtner stays with Blues

    17 Nov 2006 - 15:13:43

Birmingham City could keep loan star Nicklas Bendtner until the end of the season after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger gave the move his blessing.

The Danish striker initially agreed to join the Championship club on loan until January, but Wenger has agreed to extend the deal until the end of the season.

Bendtner has scored seven times in 17 appearances for the Blues since his arrival.

"Mr Wenger contacted me earlier this week to say, barring anything untoward, that Nicklas could stay at Birmingham for the remainder of the season," revealed Bruce.

"By anything untoward he means if Arsenal pick up four or five injuries at the same time in the striking department, but if that doesn't happen Nicklas will be our player for the remainder of the season.

"It is good news for us because already we have seen that Nicklas is an exciting talent who could go on to have a very good future in the game.
