Vieira linked with Gunners return

The Sun and the Daily Mirror both report that Arsene Wenger wants his former captain, now 33, to return to Arsenal, after he was sold to Juventus in 2005. The midfielder is now out of favour at Jose Mourinho's Inter Milan, and the paper reports that Arsenal have offered Vieira a one-year deal that will reduce his basic wage, but include heavy bonuses. Tottenham are also keen on bringing the Frenchman to London, and have offered him similar terms. Fulham and Birmingham are reported to be interested too, but clearly Arsenal would be favourites to sign Vieira if he decided to return to England. Wenger initially signed Vieira from Inter's rivals AC Milan in 1996 for £3.5million, and was sold nine years later for around £13million.
