Garry O'Connor has returned to Birmingham after Barnsley admitted defeat in their attempts to retain the striker on loan.[LNB] Tykes boss Mark Robins was hoping to hang on to the 27-year-old Scotland international after he made four Championship starts in his month-long stay at Oakwell, scoring in the 5-2 win over Leeds United.[LNB]However, the south Yorkshire outfit are working on a limited budget and have consequently decided to send O'Connor back to St Andrew's, even though Blues boss Alex McLeish would have been happy for him to stay.
