Traore, 28, who won a Champions League winners' medal in 2005 while at Anfield, has joined on a three-month emergency loan deal from Portsmouth and hopes to help City win back their place in the Premier League.[LNB]Traore told the Birmingham Post: "Alex McLeish is a great manager and he convinced me to come here. I will give my best for him. The Championship is a hard league, but if you are a good footballer then you can do it at that level.[LNB]"My best position is centre-back but I can also play at left-back and I don't mind doing that for the team and the manager."[LNB]Traore added: "This is a good opportunity for me to come to Birmingham and it's an exciting challenge. I hope to be part of the team to bring Birmingham back to the Premier League.[LNB]"Birmingham have a lot of experienced players but maybe they need a bit more in defence and I'll be looking to provide that."[LNB][LNB]
