Spartak Moscow skipper Martin Jiranek offered to Birmingham City after contract spat

Birmingham City have been offered Spartak Moscow captain Martin Jiranek.

The 31-year-old defender - who usually plays centrally but has filled in at left back - can leave Spartak for a nominal fee after indicating he won't sign an extension to his contract, which expires in December.

AEK Athens and Real Zaragoza have made him an offer, but the Czech international hopes to agree terms with Birmingham as England is his preferred destination.
