Birmingham's latest starlet Nathan Redmond is prepared to go back down to the youth team and work hard on his game despite impressing as an early substitute against Bolton on Saturday. The flying winger replaced the injured Barry Ferguson in Birmingham's 3-2 FA Cup quarter-final defeat and played a key role in both Blues goals. But he remains grounded, and said: "I've got a long way to go. It's hard for younger players nowadays. I'm pleased to have signed a pro deal and now I'm just focusing on working hard and getting more games." Redmond believes manager Alex McLeish knows how to best develop his game and will always be willing to work hard. Redmond added on the club`s official website: "The gaffer has to do what he thinks is best. "I am happy to fill in when selected but if not then I'll go back to working hard on the training ground, keep playing well for the Under-18s and reserve teams and just keep putting in good performances."
