Rangers striker and Birmingham target Kris Boyd has revealed he may wait until the end of the summer before deciding whether to stay at Ibrox.

The Gers' star striker, whose contract expires at the end of the season, admitted a successful takeover of the Scottish Premier League champions could persuade him to sign a new deal.

Boyd, who has been linked with a move to Blues for some time, told Rangers' official website: "I said at the end of the season I would make a decision and the end of the season is here now.

"Over the next couple of weeks, I will make my mind up about what is happening and we'll go forward from there.

"Whether there's a bid for the club is a factor and you never know what could happen in football.

"If something on that front happens then great and we'll see what happens.

"I don't need to dive into anything and I can wait until the end of the summer if need be."

Boyd was speaking after scoring his 26th goal of the season in today's 3-3 draw at Ibrox.

Rangers were presented with the SPL trophy after the game and the Scotland international added: "Days like this certainly whet my appetite for staying here. There are 50,000 fans jumping about like madmen and I love it."

Boyd and Kenny Miller have hit 47 goals between them this term, the best return since Ally McCoist and Mark Hateley's tally of 77 in 1992-93.

Boyd said: "That's something we're very proud of. The most important thing is for us to well for the team and thankfully we've done that this season.

"We'll enjoy ourselves tonight because it was great to get over the finish line a couple of weeks ago and win the championship."

One player who looks certain to leave Ibrox is winger DaMarcus Beasley, who posted on Twitter today: "Great way to end the season Atmosphere (sic) was AMAZING!! Enjoyed my time at rangers, loved all the fans! Thanks for the support and love!

"Will always have love for Glasgow and of course RANGERS!! Time to open a new chapter in my book! Look forward to the upcomin' months!!"
