Phillips tells City boss McLeish: Play me from the start or I'm leaving

Birmingham striker Kevin Phillips will walk away from St Andrews if Alex McLeish doesn't stop using him as a substitute. Phillips, who has made just one Premier League start this season, managed his first goal of the campaign after coming off the bench in the weekend defeat by Bolton. And the 35-year-old hopes it will be enough to persuade McLeish to give him more of a chance. 'I want to score goals and I've said how frustrated I am,' he told the Daily Mirror. 'I'd like to play more minutes on the pitch, but that's the manager's decision. 'All I can do when I come on is try my hardest and try to score goals and give the manager a bit of a problem and hopefully I've done that.' A host of Championship clubs have enquired about taking the veteran on loan for the rest of the season, if he continues to be left on the bench.
