Pannu: Blues finances are fine

Peter Pannu has moved to reassure fans over the state of Birmingham's finances after Carson Yeung was charged with money laundering.[LNB] Yeung has been released on bail after being charged in Hong Kong with "dealing with property known or believed to represent proceeds of indictable offences" totalling about HK$721million (£57.5m).[LNB]The St Andrew's owner, who took the helm of the Midlands outfit after buying out former owners David Gold and David Sullivan in 2009, is due to stand trial on August 11.[LNB]Pannu will now jet out to Hong Kong to find out the full details of the case, but he remains convinced it will have no impact on the Championship outfit.[LNB]Pannu told Sky Sports News: "I'll be flying down to Hong Kong today and I don't think I can make any comment until I find out more facts about it.[LNB]"What I have been told by my colleagues in Hong Kong is that charges relate to a period from 2001 to 2007, so that is at least two years before Carson invested in this club, so I don't see any relationship.[LNB]"The fans don't have anything to worry about, the finances are fine, everything is OK. When I am back I will update you guys.[LNB]"I have got to apologise to them (the fans), but these things do happen. No charges are proven against him."
