The Scotland international striker had scored six goals in 11 games, including three in his last two, before sustaining the injury while warming up at Loftus Road before the clash against QPR towards the end of October. He finally made his first start in five months against Norwich on Saturday, playing the first 68 minutes at St Andrew's, but he knows competitive action will be the only way for him to regain his full sharpness. "It's great to get back in the action, I've been out for a long time and was a bit tired in the second half and the gaffer was trying to give me as long as possible," O'Connor told the club's official website. "I've been looking sharp in training. Saturday I felt I was maybe a little bit off the pace but that will come. "I need to play matches and matches at this level to get back to where I left off last time. I got 65 minutes under my belt and hopefully I can keep progressing."
