McLeish still keen on Boyd swoop

Former Gers boss McLeish moved for the free-scoring ace last month, only for the club's bid to be knocked back by the SPL leaders.[LNB]Boyd is out of contract in the summer, although Rangers have offered him a reported £18,000-a-week deal to extend his Ibrox stay.[LNB]The former Kilmarnock hit-man is available for free at the end of the season and McLeish has confirmed he still wants to secure his signature.[LNB]"I asked the question of Rangers," confirmed McLeish.[LNB]"But Walter Smith said he was going to keep everybody until the end of the season.[LNB]"There are other clubs in for him but we will pursue that avenue."[LNB]McLeish also confirmed he made a verbal offer for Celtic winger Aiden McGeady, a move that was also rejected.[LNB]"Did we make a bid?" he continued.
