McLeish expecting Pav price rise

The Blues were linked with a swoop for Pavlyuchenko in the winter transfer window when his White Hart Lane career appeared to be coming to an end.[LNB]The Russian had been frustrated with his lack of opportunities during the first half of the season and Spurs were willing to listen to offers.[LNB]McLeish expressed his admiration for Pavlyuchenko but a move failed to materialise and it is now unclear whether the 28-year-old will leave Tottenham in the summer.[LNB]Pavlyuchenko has been in fine form in recent weeks and is not thinking of his future at the moment, while manager Harry Redknapp has praised his recent revival.[LNB]Blues boss McLeish admits it would now be difficult to afford Pavlyuchenko in the wake of his performances over the past few weeks.[LNB]"His price will have gone up," McLeish said in the Daily Mirror.[LNB]"I've given him too much confidence by saying I wanted him!"[LNB][LNB] Blackburn 11/10, Draw 12/5, Birmingham 12/5
