The Scot, who is celebrating two years at the helm at St Andrew's, insists the quest for Europe must remain secondary to the club establishing themselves as top tier regulars.[LNB]Asked where he thinks City will be in another two years' time, he told the club's official website: "I would hope we can still be in the Premier League and maybe competing in the middle part of the league.[LNB]"If we are talking about us getting into Europe, then I would not want to be looking too far ahead.[LNB]"First things first, and that means staying in the league this year and not looking to two years' time."[LNB]McLeish, whose side lies in 11th place in the table in the wake of Sunday's derby victory at Wolves, is acutely aware of the way expectations can be raised by relative success, and he is not about to allow himself, or indeed anyone else, to be carried away.[LNB]He said: "Sometimes people within the club can lose perspective of the whole thing.[LNB]"Look at Roy Hodgson getting Blackburn into Europe and then losing his job because maybe they weren't in the same kind of position as they had been the previous season.[LNB]"David O'Leary was similar at Leeds, so although we all crave success and are certainly ambitious, it's important to keep our feet on the ground."[LNB]McLeish, backed by new owner Carson Yeung, hopes to be able to significantly strengthen his squad during the January transfer window, and is confident he will get the backing to do that.[LNB]He said: "They are very ambitious people, and that's great because so am I.[LNB]"I think they want to secure Premier League safety as soon as possible, therefore they are keen to get new recruits in on the player front and that's why they are looking for lists from me."[LNB][LNB]
