McLeish coy on Blues contract talk

The Scottish coach moved to the Midlands in November 2007 and has proved to be a resounding success with Blues.[LNB]Despite suffering relegation at the end of the 2007/08 campaign, he led Birmingham to promotion back into the big time the following season.[LNB]He has now overseen a record-breaking run of five consecutive Premier League victories, with the Blues sitting pretty in eighth place.[LNB]McLeish admits he is delighted with how things have gone, but believes he still has plenty to prove and will not be beating down Carson Yeung's door any time soon demanding improved terms.[LNB]He said in the News of the World: "My lawyer sorted out my deal for me. I was happy with it. It was not really 'I must have a rolling contract' it was just the way it worked out.[LNB]"The most important thing about a contract is the day they don't want you anymore and make sure you get that part right. [LNB]"As long as the i's and t's were sorted out, then I trusted my lawyer so it was fine and I was happy with it. [LNB]"I wanted to come down to England and prove myself. Again, I'm not saying that has been done. We've got to keep going. [LNB]"It wasn't about money when I came. It was about getting a chance in the Premier League." [LNB]While keen to play down any contract talk for now, McLeish admits it will be difficult to curb the speculation if Birmingham continue to pick up points.[LNB]"I suppose with each passing game we are successful, these things start to get a bit of profile - players' and managers' contracts, coaches' contracts," he added.[LNB]"The better you are doing, people talk about getting more security not only for the individual but also for the club."
