McFadden Wants More Goals

27 February 2010 19:53
James McFadden is now hoping to add to his goal tally after scoring the matchwinner against Wigan Athletic. McFadden scored what was his third goal of the season, albeit on this occasion from the penalty spot, in first half stoppage time to earn Blues a 1-0 win against The Latics at St Andrews on Saturday afternoon. "I'd like to have scored more goals but the focus has been more on teamwork and trying to create goals rather than score them, but now that I'm playing in a more forward position I need to try and chip in with a few more goals," McFadden told Sky Sports News. "Overall I think we deserved to win. "Wigan came back into it and had a go at us in the second half. That's the way it's been for most of the season but we showed character to see the game out again. "The target at the start of the seaon was to reach the 40 point mark so it's nice to get there as early as we have. "We just need to try and pick up as many points as we can from now until the end of the season. Blues 1 Wigan Athletic 0 .. Match Photos
