Johnson: England should take Hart

Roger Johnson believes his Birmingham team-mate Joe Hart should be England's number one - and he is sure he will be for the 2014 World Cup.[LNB] And Johnson is keeping his fingers crossed Hart will remain on loan from Manchester City at St Andrew's for another 12 months.[LNB]The former Cardiff player, currently preparing for Sunday's derby at Aston Villa, said: "Do I believe Joe Hart should be England's number one? I do especially if you go on stats.[LNB]"I'm not a big stats person, but if you go on stats then he probably should be, and especially with our league position.[LNB]"I don't know how old Rob Green is but Fabio Capello is probably going with a bit more experience and that is how it is.[LNB]"Joe will be there (at the World Cup) and he'll gain a lot of experience from this time around.[LNB]"But for the next tournament, the next World Cup, he'll probably be number one."[LNB]Blues manager Alex McLeish would ideally like a decision sooner rather than later on whether he can keep Hart for another season.[LNB]Johnson said: "A keeper is massive to a team and Joe is a decent keeper. All the lads would love him to stay here and I think he'd like to stay.[LNB]"He's playing, he's doing well, and he's got good centre-halves in front of him!"[LNB]Johnson will be especially keen to help Blues to victory at Villa Park after being part of the Wycombe side beaten 8-3 at home by them in a League Cup tie five years ago.[LNB]Johnson scored in that game but Villa recovered from a 3-1 half-time deficit to score seven times without reply in the second half.[LNB]He said: "I know there's not much love for each other and that was one of the few games we lost at home earlier in the season.[LNB]"It was a bad day for the fans and we just hope we can repay them at Villa Park."
