Jerome: Blues have perfect blend
The Blues striker is full of praise for manager Alex McLeish for finding the right combination after the midlands club were written off as relegation certainties in the summer by bookmakers and pundits.[LNB]City found themselves occupying sixth spot in the table after Tuesday's 2-1 home win over Blackburn and Jerome feels their performances justify their current lofty status ahead of the trip to Everton.[LNB]Only Manchester United and Chelsea have also won five Premier League games on the trot during the current campaign.[LNB]Jerome, who netted both goals against Rovers, said: "People would expect us to be lower in the table but our performances merit our position at the moment.[LNB]"We are working so hard as a team and we are playing really well and are hard to play against home and away.[LNB]"We are resilient and hard to break down and we've been hitting teams on the counter-attack.[LNB]"We've got to keep our feet on the ground and not get too carried away with regards our league position.[LNB]"We've just got to get to that magical points figure, of 38 to 40 points, to guarantee our Premier League survival for the next season.[LNB]"Everything after that is a bonus and we can build on everything after that. The quicker we get safe, the quicker we can set ourselves a new target."[LNB]Jerome, who has formed a promising forward partnership with Christian Benitez, added: "What is the difference to two years ago? It's down to the transformation of the management and the players we have got here.[LNB]"We've got experienced heads in there with the mixture of the youth and the legs and that goes a long way.[LNB]"We've got some really good experienced players who have played in the Premier League for a number of years and they've been there and done it and worn the T-shirt.[LNB]"That blends well with the enthusiasm of the young players who are eager to learn and improve as players.[LNB]"The manager is in his second season in the Premier League so he knows what it is all about. I think he has got the right group of players in."[LNB]McLeish is unlikely to make any major changes for the trip to Goodison Park and has no fresh injury worries.[LNB][LNB]
