I'm not Blue about cup - Hart

The goalkeeper, who is on a season-long loan at Birmingham from Eastlands, could miss the final after the sides were kept apart in Sunday's FA Cup quarter-final draw.[LNB]And he accepts it will be Maik Taylor and not himself who will be between the posts should the Blues reach the final and meet his parent club.[LNB]The 22-year-old said: "How would you feel if you missed out on the final?[LNB]"All the lads have given banter about it but my personal feeling is 'I knew the script at the start of the season'.[LNB]"That's football. It was all agreed at the start of the season.[LNB]"Which team would I go down to the final with? Birmingham City, of course.[LNB]"That's the team I am with this year so I'd be 100% behind them."[LNB]Birmingham travel to Portsmouth in the last eight while Manchester City will visit Chelsea if they win their replay against Stoke.[LNB]"People ask me if it is a nightmare scenario for Man City to still be in the cup but that's not the case at all," added Hart.[LNB]"I wish them all the best but I want Birmingham to get there and, whatever happens, will happen.[LNB]"It is not like it will be a debatable topic.[LNB]"I knew that was the scenario at the start of the season.[LNB]"It would be great for Maik Taylor to come in if we do play Man City. I am sure it would be a great game and I'd be supporting from the side."[LNB]Birmingham manager Alex McLeish has told chief executive Michael Dunford to step up attempts to keep Hart at St Andrews for at least another season.[LNB]In an ideal world McLeish would like to make the move permanent for a player who would be reluctant to go back to Eastlands as a number two to Shay Given after tasting regular top flight.[LNB]But he would be content if Birmingham can keep Hart for an additional 12 months.[LNB]"We spoke to City a couple of months ago," said McLeish.[LNB]"Joe has had no contact from them and we've had no contact.[LNB]"But I know I've put into the system that our chief executive (Dunford) should be talking to City about next season.[LNB]"If I can't get Hart permanently, would I settle for another loan season? Yes.[LNB]"We have ironed out a few rough edges and I hope City recognise that and give us a bit of good will for next season - if you are listening Man City.[LNB]"Sometimes you can learn under different coaches and maybe do things different ways.[LNB]"We'd like to think we have definitely improved Joe with some of the stuff we have worked on."[LNB][LNB]
