Blues kicked off their pre-season tour of the far-east with a 3-2 win against a Hong Kong League XI. Blues 1st half: Foster; Carr, Dann, Johnson, Ridgewell; Larsson, Bowyer, Ferguson, Fahey; Phillips, Jerome. Scott dann opened the scoring for Blues when he headed home from a Seb Larsson free kick 21 minutes into the game at the Hong Kong Stadium. Hong Kong, however, took just four minutes to draw level through Ferreira Leonardo. Christian Kwesi then fired the hosts into a 2-1 lead with a good shot from just outside the box right on the stroke of half time. Blues 2nd half: Taylor; Parnaby, Dann, Johnson, Murphy; Fahey (Mutch, 67 mins), Gardner, Michel, Valles; Jerome (Zigic, 67 mins), O'Connor. Blues were by far the better side in the second half and Craig Gardner made the score 2-2 when he headed home a Jordan Much right wing cross on 75 minutes. Blues sealed their win in the 89 minute when Garry O'Connor netted from close range following a good lay-off from Nikola Zigic.
