Gold hails 'fantastic' Queudrue

The Frenchman has been a revelation for Blues this season since his return to the side and has made the left-back berth his own with a series of solid displays and two match-winning goals against Charlton and Bristol City. But it comes just under 12 months after Sullivan branded him "a pile of rubbish", leading to Queudrue's late return to training and his subsequent omission from the pre-season trip to Austria. But with the 30-year-old now among the favourites for the fans' player of the season award, Gold said: "I'm absolutely thrilled for Franck, he's a fantastic character and I think that if David Sullivan could rewind the tape then he would. I thought that was most unfortunate but I don't think he'll do it again. "I'm thrilled for Franck because there's nothing in this world more satisfying than being able to put up two fingers to your boss, nothing. I'd love to see him win it because of his character, his relationship with the crowd. "When was the last time any crowd sung a full-back's name? If your goalkeeper makes a world class save they sing his name, if a centre-forward scores a fantastic goal then they sing his name, but a full-back?"
