Garry O'Connor cocaine possession trial set for January

Hibernian striker Garry O'Connor is to stand trial next year accused of possessing cocaine. [LNB] O'Connor, whose former clubs include Lokomotiv Moscow, Barnsley and Birmingham, denies possessing the class A drug at Hope Street Lane, Edinburgh, on May 14 this year. [LNB] The 28-year-old is also accused of resisting, obstructing and hindering two on-duty police officers who were trying to establish his details, as well as attempting to run away from them.[LNB] Accused: Hibernian forward Garry O'Connor is facing trial in Edinburgh[LNB] O'Connor did not appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court, but depute fiscal Iain Batho said a letter had been received on his behalf from defence solicitors Liam O'Donnell & Co, which confirmed his plea of not guilty.
