Fahey keen to improve with Blues

Midfielder Keith Fahey has claimed he was "undervalued" during Alex McLeish's tenure at Birmingham City.[LNB] And Fahey is hoping to excel in his new role under Chris Hughton.[LNB]Fahey operated wide on the left while McLeish was in charge at St Andrew's, but has discovered a new lease of life in the middle of the park since returning to the first team following groin surgery.[LNB]And the Irishman thinks the longer he plays in a central position, the better he is going to get.[LNB]He told the Birmingham Mail: "I think I was a little bit undervalued, yes. You are never going to see the best of me out on the left and you're never going to see the best of me if I'm thrown into the middle one game, then back out to the left one game.[LNB]"There's been excuses about not playing me in there, and playing a three. I need games to get in there and know the position again, get a consistent run. I definitely feel I'm more suited to the middle.[LNB]"I haven't played there for that long. It's easy to forget how to play in there. I need a run of games and to learn the role all over again."
