Colin Doyle has had a trial at League One side Plymouth Argyle. The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland goalkeeper played in the Pilgrims pre-season away friendly against Hereford United on Wednesday night and kept a clean sheet as Peter Reid's side won 1-0 at Edgar Street. "Doyle looked very assured, a good stature. I thought he did well. " Reid told the official Plymouth website. Doyle was part of the Blues squad that toured Hong Kong and China this month but he was forced to return home early from the trip because of a family illness and so never gained any pre-season match action.
