Davies up for Blues battle in cup

The Reds will be looking to extend their 16-match unbeaten run when the Premier League side arrive at the City Ground on Saturday.

The clash throws two of the country's form sides against each other and Davies is keen to see how big the gulf between the Championship and Premier League is.

"Birmingham haven't lost in 11 matches and will be very confident," he told his side's official website. "But they will also know that they will be playing against a side who haven't lost in 16, will also be very confident and if they play as well as they can on their day they will be a real thorn in their side.

"The big excitement of this weekend is that our players will be getting experience of the gap that sits between the Championship and Premier League.

"We will get a first hand taste of that by putting ourselves up against a team doing very well in the Premier League. It will let us see where we are and will let us see how big the gap is."
