Blues have been handed a defensive boost after scans showed that Curtis Davies' ankle injury is not as bad as first feared.

The Blues centre-back hobbled off the pitch in the second half of the 1-0 home defeat to Huddersfield on Saturday amid fears that he had sustained serious ankle damage.

However, scans have revealed no serious damage and Davies is expected to have recovered in time for Blues' next game against Leicester City at St Andrews on 20th October.
