Dann impressed with veteran Carr

Carr had decided to hang up his boots after parting company with Newcastle following a sequence of niggling injuries.[LNB]But Blues boss McLeish managed to make Carr change his mind and he initially signed a short-term contract and helped the club to promotion from the Championship.[LNB]That earned the 32-year-old a two-year deal in the summer and his experience has been a key factor in helping centre-backs Dann and Roger Johnson adjust to the top flight following moves from Coventry and Cardiff respectively.[LNB]Dann said: "Stephen has played in the Premier League his whole career and is still a top player.[LNB]"I think his experience in the Premier League has shown in all the games he has played.[LNB]"He reads the game well and, for someone who is maybe getting a little bit older now, he's still as fit as anyone and he's still got the legs to get up and down the pitch.[LNB]"He's a good player and good to play with.[LNB]"For someone who has played in the Premier League so long, you'd be stupid not to take notice of him and not to pick up things from him.[LNB]"I think all the lads do, especially defenders. He is still a winner, he wants to win every game and that's what we need.[LNB]"In fact, there are a few more of the experienced lads who have played at the top level all of their career and their experience rubs off on everyone else as well."[LNB]Carr, who acts as stand-in skipper when Lee Carsley is not in the side, will return from a one-game suspension for Saturday's home clash with Manchester United.[LNB][LNB]
