Chairman Gold to stay on with Blues

Gold's future at the club was subject of speculation after David Sullivan, chairman of Birmingham's parent company, and chief executive Karren Brady announced their imminent departure from the club this week. However, the experienced businessman looks set to continue his role, despite the expected takeover by the Carson Yeung consortium. "I expect to be offered a new contract over the next few days," Gold told The Sun. "In 12 years, I've been involved in four play-offs, two relegations and three promotions. It's incredibly hard to walk away from that."
