Summer signing Nikola Zigic flicked on for Garry O'Connor to score from a narrow angle in the 18th minute and Sebastian Larsson added a second 20 minutes later after lobbing the goalkeeper from Craig Gardner's pass.
Blues now return to England where they will face Derby at Pride Park next weekend.
