Birmingham are planning a pre-season trip to Tanzania in July. The details have not yet been finalised but first-team coach Andy Watson and chief medical officer Ian McGuinness have travelled to Africa to inspect facilities. Birmingham are expected to undertake a four-day trip, with Tanzanian top-flight sides Simba or Yanga, or possibly both, providing the opposition at the National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam. Watson told www.bcfc.com: "The people of Tanzania that we have met have been very hospitable and kind, and from what we've seen of the country so far it looks an amazing place. "We have been made aware of just how much the Tanzanian people love their football - especially the Barclays Premier League - and when everything is fully in place we look forward to coming back in July and playing."
