irmingham manager Alex McLeish has opened talks with Swedish midfielder Sebastian Larsson over a new contract at St Andrew's.[LNB] The 25-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season after making a £1million move to Blues in 2007.[LNB]Larsson had previously been on loan from Arsenal, where he came through the Academy, and he has made a total of 172 appearances for Blues, scoring 20 goals.[LNB]Birmingham therefore hope to agree a new deal with the Sweden international, who has won 25 caps, before he is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with an overseas or Scottish club in January.[LNB]"It's obvious that the club want to know what will happen and I also want to know," Larsson told Expressen.[LNB]"We are negotiating again. We will see if we can find a solution because I have got six months left on my contract in January."
