Blues making good progress - Gold

10 June 2009 12:13
The Blues boss is targeting reinforcements for the Premier League campaign and has already smashed the club's transfer record with the purchase of Ecuador forward Christian Benitez. More new faces are expected to arrive in the coming week and Gold is happy that the board and the manager are working effectively together. He told the Birmingham Mail: "David Sullivan is working very well with Alex and they have a great relationship when it comes to negotiations. "My ultimate belief is that we will complete our programme of getting the people that Alex wants, obviously ideally he'd like to bring in a lot more than Birmingham City could afford. "We don't want to blow up expectation as we have done before but we are quietly optimistic that we are going to pull off one or two signings that will set the season alight."
